Living somewhere new can be one of the most exciting and significant things you will ever experience. But acclimating to a new culture, language as well as forming new relationships is no easy task. When the excitement of a new place begins to fade, you may be left with a sense of emptiness accompanied by a whole host of unexpected difficulties such as, anxiety, loneliness and a sense of disconnection from your support system due to time zone differences.
At Transformation Counseling Services we provide high quality remote psychotherapy to expatriates living around the world. We work with individuals, couples and families in regions of the world that have few local English-speaking resources available for mental health. Our clinicians are trained to assist you in navigating difficulties that frequently accompany the experience of living far from home, such as cultural displacement, dislocation from family, isolation, stress and the unique challenge of being a trailing spouse. We provide a safe and confidential space, to help you transition, transform and grow.
Therapy For Repatriates
Upon arrival home you may experience a “honeymoon” period where all that is grand about home seems to shine bright. Visits with old friends and family are refreshing, and you may notice some exciting changes. However the honeymoon period may not last long, as cultural, social economical differences and the stresses of reentry start to appear. These natural changes can be shocking and disorienting upon return. At Transformation Counseling Services we understand that returnees may experience a number of mental/emotional side-effects during their transition and we are here to help you navigate those changes.
If you or someone you love is struggling with a life transition and would like to explore treatment options, please be in touch.
